American Dog Tick

American dog ticks are larger than deer ticks and are commonly picked up in grassy areas, trails, and along path edges. They attach to pets and people and are often found after outdoor activity. They can be hard to fully avoid during peak season without prevention. Checking clothing and pets is important, but doesn’t stop yard activity.
